XRP remains under pressure as derivatives data shows mixed sentiment

XRP remains under pressure on Tuesday after a modest recovery the previous day failed to establish a sustained upward move. XRP traded around $1.300. The asset is trading below Exponential Moving Averages, leaving its near-term technical outlook cautious. Derivatives indicators offer a bullish picture: long-to-short ratios, with positive funding rates, both suggesting demand to maintain long positions. CryptoQuant’s market summaries also point to selling pressure across spot and futures markets. Long-to-short ratios and funding rates show bullish momentum CoinGlass data shows XRP’s long-to-short ratio at 1.02, close to its average level in more than a month. Ratios above one indicate a greater share of longs than shorts in the measured data. The scope of the ratio matters, however, account-based and position-based measures do not necessarily describe the same thing. Funding rates tell a similar story. XRP’s rate stood at 0.0101% on Tuesday. Both were positive, meaning traders holding long positions were paying shorts at the time of the reading. Positive funding can indicate demand for long exposure, but it does not establish that either asset will rise. The combination of high long-to-short ratios and positive funding leaves the derivatives picture bullish. However, CryptoQuant’s summary indicators show sell-side dominance in the spot and futures markets for XRP. For XRP, the platform also flags large whale orders and heating conditions across the two markets. Those signals suggest activity by large traders alongside elevated market conditions, although large orders alone do not establish whether whales are buying or selling. XRP spot exchange-traded funds recorded $3.61 million in net outflows on Monday, according to the supplied ETF data. The withdrawal points to reduced demand through those products at the start of the week. If outflows persist, they could add to pressure on XRP, although a single day of flows does not establish a longer-term trend. In addition to these, Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced on Monday that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted final approval to charter Ripple National Trust Bank (RNTB). https://twitter.com/bgarlinghouse/status/2114860293859778775 This latest development indicates Ripple's progress toward building digital asset infrastructure within a regulated financial system. It will enable RNTB to manage the Ripple USD (RLUSD) reserves, making it a collateral trustee for RLUSD holders and expanding its digital asset custody services. XRP faces resistance at $1.333 XRP’s daily chart remains weak, with the token below three key moving averages. The 100-day EMA at $1.333 is the first resistance level, followed by the 50-day EMA at $1.360 and the 200-day EMA at $1.369. Further horizontal barriers sit at $1.540 and $1.900. Momentum is subdued. The Relative Strength Index is near 40, below the neutral 50 level, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence remains negative. Recent improvement in the MACD suggests downside momentum may be easing, but it does not yet confirm a bullish reversal. On the downside, $1.300 is the nearby horizontal support level. A decisive break below it would leave XRP vulnerable to further weakness. The post XRP remains under pressure as derivatives data shows mixed sentiment appeared first on Invezz
